These two houses were designed for mother and son on an edge of village site. Side by side they represent two different tastes! The quiet order of the early Queen Anne village house is set off against the heavier roofed Sussex vernacular. Similar bricks and tiles were used so that whilst not the same, the houses are defined by style not material imbalance. The shell canopy porch refers to an earlier William & Mary house in Burwash.
