A wonderful house to build that encapsulates the passion of two people for the Arts & Crafts movement. Built on a very challenging Kentish village site on a steep slope, the house is approached over a long drive. Garden facade with loggia and a heavy roof overhanging a stone bay. The main entrance facade has heavily cut and moulded brickwork detailing, and an arched front door. Terracotta panels and motifs augment the square bay on this side. There is a strong influence of Philip Webb and Standen in the design and detail of this house. THE ARTS & CRAFTS ENTHUSIAST STEPHEN LANGER ARCHITECTS PORTFOLIO 5
