We exhibited again at the Listed Property Show at Olympia which was held over the weekend of 24th & 25th February. It was extremely well attended despite London Transport cancelling the tube to Olympia!
This event brings together all the specialists and experts in conservation and listed buildings that you could possibly need for your project. There were a number of independent conservation officers giving free advice and The Listed Property Owners Club experts were on hand to give information about buying, unauthorised works, VAT, insurance and so on. We had many visitors to our stand, some people with extremely interesting projects already underway and some looking for advice and inspiration from us.
Nick Barratt of House Detectives gave a very interesting talk on tracing the history of your home and how to use the physical architectural clues in the house as well as local and national archives, electoral lists, OS maps and various other documents and records to tell its story.
Next year the Show dates are 23rd – 24th February 2019.
